Volunteer Ombudsmen Needed

Ombudsmen are trained volunteers who serve as official Command representatives. Appointed by the Commanding Officers, ombudsmen are a community link and liaison with base Commands and and resource for all family members.

Navy spouses who like helping others, enjoy working with other people, are good listeners and have Navy life experience are candidates for this role.

Duties carried out by this volunteer position may include:

  • Advocating for families within a Command
  • Refering families to Navy and local agencies
  • Providing official Command information
  • Interacting with community partners
  • Maintaining confidentiality
  • Supporting the Command's mission
