Morale, Welfare and Recreation at NAS Patuxent River / NRC Solomons has announced Independence Day holiday hours at its facilities.
Closures on July 4 at Community Recreation facilities including the Community Recreation Office, Auto Skills Center, West Basin Marina and Center Stage Coffee Shop are in support of the Freedom Fest event.
Auto Skills Center: Closed July 4-5
Cedar Point Golf Course: Open 7 a.m.-Dusk July 4; open 8 a.m.- Dusk July 5 (normal operating hours)
Center Stage Coffee Shop: Closed July 4-5
Center Stage Theater: Closed July 4 weekend
Community Recreation Office: Closed July 4-5
Drill Hall: Open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. July 4; open 5 a.m.-8:30 p.m. July 5 (normal operating hours). Group exercise classes will not be held the week of July 1; classes will resume on July 8. Usage of the Drill Hall is also permitted outside of normal operating hours (registration required). Click here for more information.
Drill Hall Indoor Pool: Closed July 4; open 6 a.m.-1 p.m. July 5 for fitness swim (normal operating hours)
Flight Deck Lounge: Closed July 4; closed July 5 as regularly scheduled
Liberty Center: Open 2-10 p.m. July 4-5 (normal operating hours)
MWR Administration Office: Closed July 4; open 8 a.m.-noon July 5
NRC Solomons Administration Office: Closed July 4; open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 5 (normal operating hours)
NRC Solomons Adventure Zone: Open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. July 4-5 (normal operating hours)
NRC Solomons Lodging Office: Open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. July 4 (normal operating hours); open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. July 5 (normal operating hours)
NRC Solomons Riverside Aquatics Complex: Open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. July 4-5 (normal operating hours)
Pax River Outdoor Pool: Open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. July 4-5 (normal operating hours)
Strike Zone Bowling Center: Closed July 4; open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. July 5 (normal operating hours). The Strike Zone will also have adjusted hours of operation July 2-3. The bowling center will be open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. both days.
West Basin Marina: Open 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. July 4-5 (normal operating hours). Kayak, canoe & SUP rentals will be unavailable on July 4. Patrons interested in boat rentals on July 4 should rent on July 3 and return on July 5. Anyone renting a boat on July 3 and returning it on July 5 will only be charged a one-day rental fee.
