The NAS Patuxent River School Liaison is reminding military service members, civilian federal employees, contractors and anyone else who works on federal property to complete and send an Impact Aid Survey to their respective school districts.
Impact Aid is provided to school districts to offset the lost local revenue due to tax-exempt federal property and increased expenditures for federally connected children.
Surveys help determine the amount of funds these school districts receive. These funds are used to purchase textbooks, computers and instructional materials and fund salaries and enrichment programs such as after-school, remedial and advanced placement.
Calvert County Public Schools is surveying students/parents throughout October; St. Mary’s County Public Schools will distribute their survey during November.
