Freedom Fest

Freedom Fest

Join Community Recreation at the West Basin Marina as we kick off the evening with a FREE Independence Day celebration on Thursday, July 4 from 5-8 p.m.

The event will feature a DJ, face painting, games, inflatables, inflatable water slides, arts & crafts and more! New this year is a toddler area with water tables, small splash pads and a moon bounce sized right for little ones.

Waterslides and a coconut tree climb will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m.; other activities will begin at 5 p.m.!

Base Commands will be selling food, and MWR will have drinks (including adult beverages) and glow items available for purchase.

Handicapped parking will be available at the event - a handicap placard will be required in order for Security to allow attendees into the handicapped parking area. A golf cart will transport people in the handicapped parking area to and from the event. General parking will be in marked lots including one at the Rassieur Youth Center and two locations on Tate Road (please see the map below).

Bring a chair, blanket or towel and enjoy a front-row seat for fireworks over the Patuxent River after the festivities. Open to all with base access!
