The Rassieur Youth Center invites all youth entering grades 1-12 with base access to audition for a part in this year's Missoula Children's Theater performance of 'Gulliver's Travels.' Auditions, rehearsals and performances will be held the week of July 22.
Auditions will be held on July 22 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Center Stage Theater. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.
Among the roles to be cast are Gulliver and his trusty computer JCN (Jason), the Giant King, Queen and Princess of Brobdingnag (brab-ding-nag), a Giant Wasp, the Maniacal Scientist of Lapunta (la-poon-ta) and his Robots, Houyhnhnm (who-in-um) Horses, Yahoos and Aliens of Liliput and Blefuscu (blue-foo-skoo).
The play tells the story of Gulliver, a brave explorer who - with his ship wrecked and his trusty computer JCN on the fritz - finds himself lost in space with nothing but an Invisible Force to guide him. While transporting from world to world, under the control of the Maniacal Scientist of Lapunta, Gulliver discovers fighting aliens, arrogant Horse Leaders of the foolish Yahoos, larger-than-life royalty (in more ways than one) and robots – all who need just as much help from Gulliver as Gulliver needs from them!
No advance preparation for auditions is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery and props. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals July 22-26 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 12:15-2:15 p.m. Rehearsal times will be based upon the part received.
The final performance will be held on July 26 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. All those with base access are invited to attend!
