Final Summer Reading Program Prize Pickup Aug. 23

The final prize pickup for those registered for the Summer Reading Program is Aug. 23 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Community Recreation Office. Minutes must be logged no later than noon on Thursday, Aug. 22. Prizes earned from previous weeks may be picked up at any time during normal hours of operation.

New Seasonal Hours at Pax River Outdoor Pool
|
|
|
|
The Pax River Outdoor Pool will be open 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m. on Aug. 20. Beginning Aug. 21 and continuing through Sept. 4, the pool will be open Tuesday-Friday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from11 a.m.-7 p.m. The pool is closed on Mondays.

Riverside Beach Adjusts Seasonal Hours

Effective Aug. 20 and through Sept. 2, Riverside Beach at NRC Solomons is open Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Beach boat rentals are available on Saturdays and Sundays from noon-6 p.m. The beach will be closed for the season beginning Sept. 3.

Trunks Needed for 'Trunk or Treat'

Volunteers are needed to decorate trunks for MWR Community Recreation's 'Trunk or Treat' event on Friday, Oct. 25. Businesses, Commands, individuals, families and friends are needed to make this event - one of MWR's largest of the year - a success. Candy will be provided!

The Teen Center at the Rassieur Youth Center offers a time for teens weekdays from 2-6 p.m. to socialize with their peers. Boys and girls ages 12-18 with base access who are in middle or high school are eligible for the free program. Registration is accepted year-round.
